About Us

IITM Code Vistara was built by a student of the program, for students of the program. The BS Degree has Quiz 1, Quiz 2 and End Term exams, and the best way to prepare for them is to practise on real previous-year questions under exam conditions. That is what the site was made for, and it has since grown a few more tools that students asked for.

The site is run by Aniket Raj, an independent developer and student. It is not a company product, and it is not an official IIT Madras website (see the Disclaimer).

• Practice previous-year questions. Choose Quiz 1, Quiz 2 or End Term, pick a subject and a paper, and attempt it in a timed exam-style interface with MCQ, MSQ and numerical-answer questions. Answers are checked on the server, and a Learning mode lets you see the correct answer one question at a time.
• Read study notes. Week-wise notes for foundation-level courses, written in English and in Hinglish, with worked examples, diagrams and practice questions. They are free and need no account.
• Use the calculators. A grade calculator and a CGPA calculator that follow the formulas published in the program's grading documents.
• Track your progress. A free account keeps your attempts and scores, so you can see what you have covered.

Question papers are transcribed question by question from the papers students received, together with the official answer key. Mathematics is stored as text, not pictures, so it can be read on any screen. Each transcription is reviewed against the original before it goes live.

Study notes are prepared from the course's lecture material and written to be easy to revise from: short definitions first, then worked examples and exam-style questions. Where a source had a mistake or two versions of a problem disagreed, the note says so instead of hiding it.

We still get things wrong sometimes. If you find a wrong answer, a typo or an unclear explanation, please tell us through the Contact page with the subject, exam and question number. Corrections are made as soon as they are checked.

Every paper, note and tool on the site is free to use. The site costs money to host and takes time to keep accurate, so it may show advertising (see the Privacy Policy for how that works). Advertising never changes an answer, a note or the order of anything you study.
